My story

Tootsie is a sleek black cat with beautiful yellow eyes who was abandoned in Salt Lake City and then rescued by a good samaritan. Tootsie was heavily pregnant at the time, though just a youngster herself at around a year old. Despite this rough start, she has been pure sweetness and affection since day one. Tootsie loves lying as close to you as possible, sometimes draping herself over your lap. Her love language is head bumps, butterfly kisses, slow blinks, and as many pets as you are willing to bestow upon her. She also occasionally loves to show love with the gentlest of little nibbles. Not aggressive in the slightest, it is just her quirky way of saying, Come be with me - I love you and you are my favorite person! Whether it is during a cuddle session or while you are just hanging out alongside her, you might get a soft nibble or two as her version of a kiss. Tootsie has old soul eyes that convey a poignant level of trust. She is all love. Tootsie has been calm and unflappable in every situation she has been in so far, and would likely blend well into just about any household. The few times she has encountered other cats at her foster home she has either completely ignored them (after escaping from the foster room into the general house where she was more intent on exploring) or, while secured in a large cage, remained relaxed and mildly curious of the other other perturbed cat that had free rein of the room. With proper slow introductions Tootsie should do just fine with other cats. We have not seen her interact with dogs at all and do not know her history with them, but with a calm, polite dog and very gradual introductions it could be possible given her laid back nature. The foster room has also been visited regularly by groups of children ranging in ages from 4-12 and she has been very comfortable with them. Tootsie is only just beginning to discover toys and the kids have enjoyed trying to get Tootsie to play. Most successful so far has been the dangly, squirmy things. You know the saying, Find yourself a man who looks at you like you are his whole world? That man is Tootsie ( ...except she is a she.... and a cat...). Whoever adopts Tootsie will be gazed upon like they are her entire world. Because you will be. And who does not deserve that kind of adoration in their lives?! Bring home the sweetest and most deserving of kitties today! If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tootsie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
