My story

Welcome Toby to CCPAL Rescue. Toby is a 3 year old Chiweenie. He has the look of a Chihuahua mostly. He has upright ears and is decent on a leash. He weighs about 10 pounds. He came from a hoarder here in Texas. He is stiff when you pick him up. It seems he is not very accustomed to being held. He is good with other dogs and has long enough legs that he would be a great walking companion. He came in with heartworms and we have started the treatment. He will be ready to leave the rescue in about a month. He is a nice dog. He isn’t too clingy and has the right amount of independence to be a wonderful companion. He would love to get more attention and I think if you want a lap dog could learn to sit in your lap. It would be natural in his breed mixes. He is decent in a crate and overall a very good dog. He has been around larger dogs and did fine. I would think he would be great for a senior or someone who wants and easier dog and one that requires only a small amount of exercise and a smaller yard space. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting his vaccinations and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. .
