Syrup (now Layla)

My story

Names Syrup, I am a fun-loving girl who loves to play and romp around in the yard with toys, squeaky ones are my favorite. I like to help my friends here at Stray Haven in the office to make sure they get the right toys and treats. I am also told that I am a great treat quality control tester. My friends are helping me work on my basic manners and jumping, but sometimes I just get too excited and jump to give kisses. I have a lot of love to share......From one of our volunteers, after spending some time with Syrup/Layla:DOG DATE THURSDAY. "Today's date was with the charming Ms. Syrup. Syrup is an approximately 3-year-old pit mix who was discovered to have heartworm after coming to the shelter. She recently completed her heartworm treatment and is hoping for her forever and ever home. She does still have a reverse sneeze cough from the heartworm that makes her sound like a pig (don't tell her I said that), but that should resolve.Syrup, along with my lovely assistant, did a walk in the park, a visit to Home Central, and then a picnic lunch.Syrup is a wonderful dog and is so happy her treatment is over so that she can spread her sweetness to anyone who wants to meet her.She can be seen at Stray Haven Humane Society in Waverly, NY, during their open hours of Tuesday-Friday 10-5 and Saturday and Sunday 10-4.
