My story

Meet Charlotte — A Truly Special Soul Ready for Her Forever Home! Charlotte’s journey hasn’t been easy, but her spirit shines brighter than ever. She was found by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan, painfully emaciated and covered in ticks, desperately in need of help. We rushed her to the Veterinary Emergency Group, where she received the urgent care she needed to begin her healing journey. As we got to know Charlotte, we discovered she has entropion—a painful condition where her eyelids turn inward and irritate her eyes. In true beauty queen fashion, she received gentle, advanced treatment using hyaluronic acid fillers to ease her discomfort and will soon undergo surgery to correct the issue permanently. We also learned she has trigeminal myopathy, a nerve condition that affects the muscles used to close her jaw. Despite this, Charlotte has adapted beautifully and, remarkably, doesn’t require much special care. She lives life much like any other dog and is simply searching for what all dogs deserve: love, companionship, and a safe place to call home. Charlotte’s calm, loving nature has quietly touched everyone at the sanctuary. She is the kind of dog who changes you—not with grand gestures, but with her gentle spirit, soft presence, and steady heart that leaves a lasting imprint. She’s ready to find a family where she can continue to thrive, surrounded by patience, kindness, and unconditional love.
