Morrie A17582344 lb. neutered male, approx 1 year old -He’s a nervous boy who is trying so hard not to be-He was shaking in fear initially but is already doing so much better! He wants it!-He walks very nicely on leash and was content to slowly explore the yard.-Inside he wanted to sniff and check everything out too-He finally approached me for treats. That’s the way to earn his trust. SNACKS!-Once he became comfortable he started to enjoy pets and laying across my lap-He sits for treats and takes them nicely-Not currently playing with toys-Good boy who needs time and patience to decompress away from the stress of the shelter-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros. -He perked up when he saw another dog outside playing. He may benefit from a confident doggie sibling…..after proper introductions of course :)Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Morrie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
