My story

Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Could she do well with kids? Yes, with children around 6 years old, on a kid-by-kid basis.Could she do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal:Meet Baby – Gentle Soul, Champion Cuddler, Big Bark (But Just at First)Baby may greet you with a mighty bark from her kennel, but don’t let that bold hello fool you—this 2-year-old, 68-pound Mountain Cur mix is one of the sweetest hearts in the building. The second she’s out and about, you’ll meet the real Baby: soft, affectionate, playful, and oh-so-attentive. What Makes Baby So Baby:- Total cuddlebug who gives the gentlest hugs you’ve ever received- Polite and friendly with people—she wants to please and connect- Loves to play with her humans, even if she’s still figuring out toys on her own- Knows her basics—“sit,” “stay,” and “wait”—and is eager to learn more with consistency- Sensitive to new sounds and environments but bounces back quickly with reassurance- Handles like a dream—comfortable with paws, ears, and mouth being touchedBaby is looking for a calm, loving home where she can feel safe, blossom at her own pace, and soak up affection. She’s shown she can do well with kids around 6+, and she’s open to living with another dog, pending a successful intro. We’re not sure about cats, but she’s shown grace and gentleness in her interactions across the board.Baby’s Ideal Day:- Wake up. Greet you with a soft tail wag and morning hug.- Go outside. Play a little, cuddle a lot.- Nap in a cozy spot while you work nearby.- Quick training session (she loves to show off).- Wind down with belly rubs and sweet snuggles.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Baby is a friendly and polite girl who loves interacting with people. She expresses affection through gentle hugs and playful movements. While she may not be fully confident with toys on her own, she shows great interest in playing with humans. In terms of handling, Baby is comfortable with her paws, ears, and mouth being touched. She understands cues like `sit,` `stay,` and `wait,` and, with consistent guidance, she can learn

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Baby, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
