Pandora's Personality Pandora is a special kitty who has defied the odds! We named her Pandora because when she was rescued all of the hardships she had endured were released (her Pandora’s Box was opened) so only good things would come her way in the future. When arriving in our care, Pandora was very sweet, but also very shy. She was suffering from a badly infected eye that we subsequently have surgically removed. It didn’t, however, take her long to realize that she was safe in our care. She slowly began to come out of her shell and has blossomed into a sweet, loving and playful girl. Pandora acts more like a puppy than a kitten. When she sees you, she pops down on the ground and rolls around to express her joy. She also wags her tail slowly from side to side like a dog. The minute you pet her she purrs nonstop. Pandora also loves to curl up next to you, sometimes in your lap, and sleeps by your side at night. Pandora is also quite playful. She loves to bat toy mice and balls around then chases them. She also goes wild when offered a toy filled with catnip. Pandora is also quite talkative when she greets you and loves engaging in conversation. What Type of Home Pandora Needs Pandora needs a quiet home with a caretaker who will slowly introduce her to new people and new things. She has not been introduced to children, so no very young children in her forever home. So far, Pandora doesn't seem receptive to other cats. This could change over time with slow introduction to the right other kitty. However, she seems happy as a single cat as long as people are around to give her attention. Where Pandora Came From This sweet girl was living outside a home with several stray cats. The caretaker did his best to feed these cats, but was not able to provide any vet care. Luckily Pandora, along with her mother and a subsequent litter, and another mom cat with newborn kittens were discovered by a kind woman who does rescue in Southwestern Virginia. With few resources to help cats in this part of Virginia, they were transferred to SPCA NOVA.PLEASE NOTE: we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
