My story

Pokémon (who responds to “Pokey”) is a 65 pound Lab mix who is the snuggliest “lap dog” you’ll ever meet. He is loyal love bug who never barks and acts like a cat. He thinks that he’s teacup sized and always wants to be sitting in your lap. While he just recovered from an upper respiratory infection, this guy is strong and fast. He would do well in a home with adults or children over 16 who can handle his frame and energy. He is a little bit of a scaredy-cat and he gets scared by loud noises, like semi trucks or wheels on pavement. He would thrive with a family that has enough room to offer him, as well as immediate access to a peaceful outdoor place. At 1.5 years old, you’d think this guy has nonstop zoomies, but from the second I met Poké, he’s always been mellow. He gets excited for the first few minutes when meeting people, and then chills out. He solely wants to be cuddling all the time, unless he’s chewing a bone. He’s done great with potty training so far. He prefers an enclosed room like a bathroom or big closet to being confined in a crate, but if he is carried into the crate he won’t make a peep besides trying to chew his way out. Pokemon is truly one of the goofiest, sweetest, smartest, loyal dogs I have ever met. In his past two weeks, he has already grown so much and I’m working with a trainer for him as well. He needs a home with a family who is committed to continue his training and supporting his weird, cuddly, anxious self with time and love.
