My story

Hi! My name is Sady Mae. Could you be my forever family?   I somehow ended up in a shelter, but thankfully, this nice lady rescued me, so I am living in a foster home right now until I find my forever people. I am a 2-year-old, 5.5-pound long-haired chihuahua - fully grown, so not getting any bigger than this! I have so many kisses saved up to give my new family, and I am sweet as pie. Really, I just want lots of love and a nice person to cuddle up with at night. I will be stuck to you like glue when I decide you’re the one!   I have such a big personality in this little body that I need my own Instagram page. My face is very expressive, so you’ll always be able to know what I’m thinking. I am just the right amount of sassy and mischievous, and I’m very playful once I warm up to you. I like to play games and hide toys, and just when you think they’re gone, I find them again! My favorite toy is a pink stuffed Stanley Cup that is almost as big as me, but I have no problem dragging it with me everywhere I go.    When I came into the rescue, I didn’t know much about “normal dog stuff” - stairs frightened me, and I had never seen a leash before. But now I power up the stairs with gusto and don’t freeze when I have a harness on me. I’ve already learned so much and I’m such a smart little girl, but I’d love for you to teach me more things.    I love being carried, of course, and my foster mom has a papoose she puts me in when we go out, and I enjoy being close to her. I don’t mind car rides and will usually settle between my foster mom’s neck and the back of the seat (I whine if you try to crate me while I'm in the car, I want to see things outside). We have visited several outdoor events, like a farmers markets, and I’m a very good girl. I don’t typically say hi to other dogs and will probably bark at them if you try to introduce me, but if they leave me alone I am content. I bask in the attention I get from all the people, though!   I am fully pad trained and love burrowing into blankets. The world is still a bit new to me but I have a healthy curiosity. I can also be pretty fearless and might go flying off high areas (like the couch or bed) so you'll need to keep an eye on me at times. I also have the longest tongue you've ever seen and it is definitely a core personality trait of mine.   I would do best in a home that has an adult around most of the time since I am so attached to my human. I nibble a lot when I play so I’m probably not a fit for a home with small children. I am very protective over my human, so if there is another dog in the home they need to have a chill and non-clingy personality because I can get a little possessive of my people. Due to my petite size, if there is another dog in the home they should preferably be under 20 pounds (with exceptions made if the dog has been raised around much smaller dogs). I would do fine as an only dog, and I know that I do not like cats.    An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.          June 22, 2025, 11:29 am
