Tarzan & Loki: A Bonded Pair with a Brave Beginning Their story began in the most unlikely of places—a home already full of the joyful chaos that comes with three huskies. Not exactly a cat sanctuary, right? But sometimes, life has other plans. One by one, a few stray cats started showing up around the family’s garage. Though they had never been “cat people,” compassion kicked in. They began feeding the cats, and over time, these once-cautious strays began to warm up—allowing the family to pet and love them. One small, thin, and sweet kitty stood out. Young and fragile but full of spirit, they named her Xena. She quickly became a part of the family, and the did all they could to care for her. But just a few months later, tragedy struck—Xena was hit by a car just a few doors down. Her mother—known simply as Mama—was found grieving beside her body. The family, heartbroken, buried Xena in their backyard beside other beloved strays they’d cared for over the past decade. Searching for Xena’s original owner revealed a heartbreaking truth: he had no emotional attachment to her—or any of the outdoor cats he’d allowed to breed unchecked. He casually confirmed that Mama was Xena’s mother and had already had several litters. When told she was likely pregnant again, he simply shrugged. That was the final straw. On March 26, 2025, Mama disappeared. Four days later, she reappeared—peeking out from behind boxes on a high shelf in the family’s garage. Tucked safely beside her were four tiny newborn kittens. She had chosen her new safe haven—the family that had shown her kindness and care. The man who had once claimed her made no effort to find her. No flyers. No social media posts. No neighborhood posts. So the family made a choice: they would care for Mama and her kittens themselves. They slowly earned Mama’s trust, giving her a cozy cat condo, soft beds, toys, good food, vet care, flea treatment, and even a fan to keep her cool. She stayed mostly outside—where she felt most comfortable—until the summer heat became too much. Then the family brought her and her babies inside, giving them a dedicated upstairs room, safe from the huskies’ daily excitement. All four kittens thrived. Eventually, two of the brothers found a loving home with a dear family friend who had 4 other cats. She had grown attached to them over the months. The family kept them all until they were fixed, healthy, and ready for their next chapter—including a big move to Minnesota. Mama will remain with the family forever! Now, only Tarzan and Loki remain—two brothers with a powerful bond and endless personality. Tarzan, a sleek and agile grey kitten, was the first to leap, climb, and explore—earning his name with every fearless step.Loki, true to his name from Thor: Ragnarok, is clever, curious, and delightfully mischievous—with the best side-eyes in the house. They do everything together—play, pounce, wrestle, cuddle, and chase each other in wild, joyful zoomies. Their bond is undeniable, and they’ll thrive most in a home that keeps them together. Now neutered, healthy, and full of love, Loki and Tarzan are ready for their forever home. They adore Creamy Purée treats, fuzzy toys, belly rubs, and—most of all—each other. Their foster family has poured their hearts into raising them and would be thrilled to stay in touch if you’d like updates, pictures, or to share how the boys are doing in their new life. If you're looking for double the love, double the fun, and double the heart, Tarzan and Loki are the perfect pair.
