My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog D:5Two years old and 47 pounds, Hollister is a charming and expressive boy who has made incredible progress since arriving at the shelter. Once a trembling, shut-down pup, he's now confident, affectionate, and eager to connect with people. He's still learning about the world, but he's already showing how much love and personality he has to give. Big progress, big heart – Went from pancaked and fearful to tail-wagging, affectionate, and seeking out attention Affectionate and handler-focused – Loves leaning in for pets, giving kisses, and following his person around the yard Treat-motivated and eager to learn – Doesn't seem to know many commands yet, but responds well to gentle guidance Learning dog social skills – May be dog-selective; currently working on calm intros and better manners around other pups Would thrive with structure – Looking for a patient, dog-savvy home that can offer consistency and help him keep building confidence  June 25, 2025, 10:50 pm
