My story

Meet Darryl! This small, wrinkly, peculiar gentleman is full of love, personality, and a never-ending supply of hilariously "special" noises. Affectionately nicknamed Mr. BBQ, Darryl was removed from his home when it became painfully clear that he was being neglected and desperately needed medical care and grooming. We couldn't even see his eyes or mouth - just mats. We've gotten Darryl cleaned up and have been delighted to no end by the absolute character he has proven to be. He has successfully moved into his foster home and is settling in beautifully, which is to say: - He has entered into romantic relationships with the household stuffies. - He will sell state secrets for a piece of warm chicken. - He believes couches are a basic right, not a privilege, and will file a verbal complaint if left on the floor. Darryl is a dog of many voices, and none of them sound the same. He's got a soft bark to demand cuddles, a cute whine when you're out of the room, and then... there are the special voices. As of now, his foster mom's favorites are: his dinosaur noise for scratching his chin; his gremlin growl for fighting with his own feet, and the authoritative voice he uses to tell off the small round man who tails him 24/7 (spoiler: it's his butt). Darryl gets along well with other dogs and is respectful of their space. He adores cuddling with his humans, getting belly rubs, and playing with squeaky toys. He loves couch time but has short little legs so needs a hand getting up, but he is nothing if not determined. You should see him try jumping up for a snuggle while carrying a gigantic stuffie in his mouth! Darryl is great on the leash and loves exploring his foster family's yard. He is totally housebroken, a great passenger in the car, and happy to hang at home when his humans have to run out. Basically the chillest and most easygoing dude there is - as long as you're not his butt or his feet. Darryl the BBQ Man is looking for a family that loves to snuggle with him, is generally calm and quiet, and wants to regularly cry with laughter at his noises and antics.
