Trey

My story

Gorgeous, curious, affectionate Trey is a stunning pale silvery-grey “tortimese” – a mix of lilac Siamese and dilute tortie. Her foster nicknamed her Lana Del Trey because she’s so pretty. She’s a petite girl, only 7 lbs. Her coat is so super-soft that you’ll love petting her and she will purr loudly when you do. Trey came to us as a refugee from the Hill Country floods, so we don’t know a lot about her background. She’s missing her left front leg, but it must have been amputated long ago because she is fully healed and gets around just fine. In fact, she hops around like a bunny, which just makes her even more adorable than she already is! She loves her stand-up scratcher and can bat toys around with the best of them. She uses her litter box like a champ. Trey is still adjusting to her new environment, so she’s still a bit shy and cautious. She hides for much of the day, but her foster hears her exploring and having fun at night. She’s already beginning to come out of her shell in the presence of her foster and is showing greater comfort and affection each day. Now she rubs on her foster to ask for more pets. She also has the cutest little scratchy meow when she’s excited. We’re sure that with patience and love, she will blossom into the sweet, loving cat she truly is. Trey seems to be neutral about other cats. She was around them in the shelter but hasn’t yet met her foster’s cats. She can surely hear and smell them but does not seem bothered by their existence. Trey would do best in a calmer home without young kids, and with people who will show her the patience and love she needs to fully blossom. She would probably be OK with another cat-friendly cat, but she’d also be fine as an only pet. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip.
