A volunteer writes:I never met Luna until I did yesterday. She was in hiding all this time, just coming out to eat and use her litter box. What a beauty with her snow white coat, so tiny and such beautiful blue eyes....Who is this lovely dame? Luna was rescued from the street five years ago and did well with her adoptive family. Two years ago, she started to redirect what could be her fear of noises onto her owners. Of course, this is an assumption but the decision was made to take her to the Manhattan Care Center on June 21. Luna did not like this unfortunate turn of events. She was mighty upset and turned her back to us. Today(6/10), she was at her door, rubbing at the bars and head bunting my fingers. I opened her kennel, she was surprised, backed off then came forward and accepted briefly some petting. She took some Delectables from a spoon and then started to play with a feather wand. She was a little conflicted but did not hiss or swatted and even accepted some caresses on her head. I was so happy of her progress and I look forward to see more improvements as time goes by. Luna is a middle aged dame who likely would thrive in a calm house with a gentle, experienced and understanding new owner. She is waiting for her hero....Luna has made some nice improvement since her first assessment and has warmed up and now comes down off the bed seeking attention. She enjoys petting with a slightly stressed meow, and she can become a little bit ramped up or overstimulated and get a little bit swatty. She was calm when picked up and held and was sat back down. She was again slightly ramped up, but she's a sweet cat who benefits from a little space and time.Luna interacts with the observer, solicits and appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. We recommend that Luna go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in overstimulation behavior. Primary Color: White Weight: 6.6 Age: 9yrs 0mths 2wks
