Mike

My story

Apply to Adopt Me! Mike is a strawberry-coated, hazel-eyed chihuahua mix that is around 4 years old and weighs around 13lbs.  He was very frightened when he arrived to his foster home, but after a couple days of him building up his confidence, he was ready for some love. He was soon sitting at his foster dad’s feet and allowing pets. He was so starved for love that soon after that he was jumping into their laps asking for lots of attention, even encouraging them to continue when they stopped. He is his foster mom's shadow now and follows her throughout the house. It took only 3 days for him to settle and begin doing his business outside. He is taken out often, goes out and quickly does his business. It has just been discovered that he loves fetching a stick, and will "almost" bring it back to you. He loves his morning and evening walks and does extremely well on a leash. He is good with other dogs; on walks he does well when he sees another dog, but if they bark at him then he barks back. He hasn't seen a cat since he has been with our rescue. He sleeps in a crate at night but would prefer to snuggle up with his person. He is so loving and would be a terrific pal for anyone wanting to be his best friend. While he hasn't been around kids while with our rescue, we believe he would be fine around older, respectful kids as younger kids may make him nervous. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Mike, please complete an application and tell us more about you.
