My story

How this pet arrived: Dainty was brought in byour Humane Law Enforcement team on 5/13/2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Dainty is a sensitive and timid pup who has shown signs of fearfulness in the shelter environment, including a tucked tail, trembling, a tense body, and hesitancy walking on leash. She will need a patient and understanding adopter who can help her feel safe and secure at her own pace. Due to her fear-based behavior, Dainty is required to go to a home with no children under 12 years old and no other dogs. Any children in the household must be able to respect her boundaries, including practicing consent-based petting and allowing her access to safe, quiet zones. Dainty is likely to thrive in a calm, low-traffic home with few household members and a predictable routine. With time, space, and gentle support, Dainty has the potential to build confidence and become a cherished companion. At SDHS:Dainty has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed.
