Hey there! Meet Delilah! This serene sweetie has the most stunning eyes and the calmest demeanor! She has a nurturing spirit and loves to be where the vibes are peaceful. She is dog friendly and cat friendly! (We think she may be part feline, LOL) She makes for the best partner to chill with and is ready to find her forever family! We believe that Delilah is a husky mix of some sort who is around 2 years old and weighs approximately 54 pounds! Due to her being a rescue, age and breed are our best guesses and cannot be guaranteed. Check out Delilah here: https://youtu.be/FrwACG1Bwx0 Delilah is very dog friendly and has met so many different types of dogs, all with varying personalities and sizes. She has been around shy dogs, dogs that are rude and pushy, dogs that rough housing around her, and dogs that are calm like her and she does great. Delilah is not a playful lady with other dogs. She gives off more of the laid back chill, hangout type of vibes. So when she is around dogs that are all about play and have a more rowdy play style, she will give a very subtle "hey, I'm not the playful type" kind of boundary correction to those dogs and she goes on about her business. She doesn't mind if dogs are playing around her having a good time, she is just the type that isn't interested in playing. If you have a playful dog in your home and you're looking for a playmate for them, Delilah is not your girl. But if you have a dog that is chill, likes to hang out and just enjoys the company of other dogs, then Delilah will fit right in! Delilah has no problem being the only dog in your life either and being the center of your world. She does not need the company of another dog to help her feel comfortable and open up nor does she need another dog to fulfill her energy needs. Overall, she is more on the calmer side and would be perfectly fine being your one and only! Delilah would be a great work from home gal as well! She is so quiet in the house and knows how to easily entertain herself. She just needs a space to relax and get cozy to be satisfied! I joked earlier that we think she might be part feline because of how stoic she is! But she lived with 15 cats at one point and existed peacefully with them! So maybe they taught her a thing or two about the art of being still lol. We consider Delilah to be very cat friendly and would do well in a home with a dog savvy cat that doesn’t mind the presence of a canine! Delilah hasn’t been around young children but lives with teenagers at her foster home! They love to give her pets as they pass by her on the way to living their busy lives! We believe that she would do well with older children that understand the needs of a quiet cutie like Delilah! Delilah definitely needs a home lifestyle over an apartment living space. She thrives in a yard with a fence and lush grass for her to stretch out and sunbathe in! She is the perfect companion for someone just looking to have a friend to spend chill days with as the world passes by. Does Delilah sound like your match? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
