My story

Only you can prevent wildfires... enjoy the forest with SMOKEY by your side! Rather than a mascot for the National Forest Service, this Smokey is a 2-year-old mixed breed pup. However, one thing he and Smokey the Bear have in common is that they both cherish the great outdoors! Smokey's favorite part of the day is walk time, and we bet he'd make a fabulous hiking buddy, too! Smokey transferred to us from another shelter, meaning much of his history is a mystery. A few things we have learned about this exuberant fellow since his arrival at HSU is that he enjoys rough and tumble play with dog friends, he's very treat motivated, and he does adorable head tilts at new sounds. Pop on your park ranger hat and come on down to the Humane Society of Utah to meet Smokey today! Who knows? He may be your new best friend!
