Ace

My story

Ace is 10 years old, 13 lbs, and a Shih Tzu mix. He is fixed, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines and his monthly preventatives. Ace is a distinguished gentleman of 10 years and he is in excellent health. In part it is due to his love of walks. As he's happy to potty while walking, he is a candidate for homes without a fenced yard - if his adopters are committed to exercising him on the leash! He does need help with tall stairs as he is a small dog. Ace loves his people and will follow you around the house. This snuggly little dog loves to give big cuddles and hang out on the couch. When he’s not snuggling sometimes he will impress his foster family with his puppy-like energy and play time enthuiasm for fetch! Ace came to us quite matted and with overgrown nails. His grooming had to be done in two sessions. The first session was shorter due to his anxiety and discomfort. Our vet recommended some anxiety meds and his second session went well. Now that he is more physically comfortable, it is likely he will be happier and less stressed for future grooming sessions regardless of medication. Ace is a wonderful dog. He'd love to be an only child, he'd be fine with a doggie sibling and he'd tolerate a cat sibling. He has not met any children with his foster family, due to his temperament they feel that he'd do well with respectful, dog-savvy children.
