My story

Meet Jett- a member of the adorable, awesome black dog club. These cutie arrived at the shelter as a stray and he’s on the search for a forever home! Jett is estimated to be about 4 years old and is a large dog, weighing in at about 70lbs. Jett’s finders said he was very friendly and his volunteer friends have the same feedback! Jett has been described as goofy and energetic. As a larger dog, he would benefit from a family dedicated to giving him proper exercise and mental stimulation. Jett has been noted to politely sit and wait for treats and to be affectionate with his human buddies. Come meet Jett today! ACCT is open every day 10am – 6pm. Behavioral Notes: Volunteer 6/26/25: Jett is such a big goofy fella who made me giggle the entire time I was with him. He’s such a big boy with an even bigger heart. He loves affection, treats and just spending time with you. He sits patiently while waiting for treats and takes them very nicely. I felt so bad having to put him back into his kennel after our walk because he got so sad. I really hope he gets scooped up soon! Staff 6/26/25: Was able to be fully checked in without any signs of aggression. He began to thrash when he was initially muzzled but with fast hands and calm tones he was fine. He is a very energetic and jumpy boy but took well to redirection. He loves cheese and snacks to keep him distracted. Medical Notes: 6/25/25: 7:30 pm - Check on pt again. He ate is dinner. Much less stressed but panting again. Wags tail when spoken to.
