My story

Meet Honey, a 5.5-year-old retriever mix who’s basically a living, breathing marshmallow: soft, sweet, and just a little bit squishy when it comes to confidence. At first glance, Honey might look like she’s auditioning for the role of “shy woodland creature #3” ,she’ll avoid eye contact at first, but give her a little time, and you’ll discover a quietly charming, low-key girl who’s just figuring out how to trust the world again. Honey knows how to sit and walks nicely on leash, which makes her the perfect companion for quiet strolls with plenty of sniff breaks. With other dogs, Honey is social but prefers the gentle, polite types. Pushy pups need not apply—she’s not afraid to set boundaries with a side-eye and a graceful retreat. Because she’s still gaining confidence, Honey would do best in a calm home with kids aged 12+ and maybe a respectful canine roommate who understands the beauty of quiet companionship. If you’ve got a cozy spot on your couch and the patience to let a tender soul bloom in her own time, Honey just might be your perfect match.
