My story

Ahoy there!  I am Skipper. I am 25 pounds of mystery, mischief, and mild manners. Me and my brother were recently surrendered to the pound by our previous owner. The people here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue don’t know why they did that to us. I promise I didn’t eat anyone’s favorite shoes... recently. I might have a little yellow Labrador in my ancestry, I do have that sun-kissed yellow coat.  But my brother looks like he might be part Corgi with those shorty legs while I have more normal length legs. Honestly, our breed is a canine cocktail and anything you might guess is probably right but we are certainly equal parts adorable, loyal, and heart-meltingly sweet. I’m good with other dogs—like, "let’s be besties and sniff stuff together" good. With humans, I start off a little shy. I probably didn’t have a lot of social experience in my old life, but give me a little patience and maybe a crunchy treat or two, and I’ll be wagging at your heels before you know it. Here’s the scoop on me: I have been neutered, yup, that ship has sailed! I have had all my vaccinations. I am current and accounted for! I have a microchip, like a top-secret agent, I always make my way home that way! I lived with my previous family and was not a stray, so I am likely house trained. I'm not quite sure how I feel about cats. My past owner didn't leave any clues, and there aren't any feline friends at the rescue for me to meet. Maybe I'll discover my inner cat lover someday!
