Meet Newton!!!Newton is a sweet 3-year-old male dog with a gentle spirit and a heart full of potential. While he may take a couple of weeks to fully settle in and show his true personality, once he feels safe and comfortable, he becomes a lovely little companion who enjoys staying close and soaking up attention from his people.Newton is a sweet and sensitive boy with a heart full of love just waiting to be shared. Though he may be a bit nervous at first, once he starts to feel safe, you`ll see his true personality shine through — and it`s worth the wait!Because Newton is still gaining confidence, he’ll need a home that can help him feel secure. A fenced-in yard (5ft minimum) or an apartment with no direct outside access is required, as he may try to run if he gets scared or overwhelmed during his transition. Newton is best suited for a quiet, calm home with adults and teenagers—no young children, please. He thrives in a predictable environment without a lot of hustle and bustle. We strongly recommend that everyone in the household meet Newton before adoption to ensure it’s the right fit for both sides. When it comes to other dogs, Newton may be hesitant at first, but he has shown that with time and a gentle approach, he can enjoy playing and interacting with them. He could potentially live with another dog, especially a calm, confident one who could help him feel more secure as he adjusts to a new routine. In his foster home, Newton also did well with cats. He was curious but respectful, giving them space and even sharing the couch for some relaxed hangout time.Newton appears to be housetrained, has ridden nicely in the car, walks well on a leash, and is comfortable in a crate. He especially loves relaxing on the couch after a day of quiet companionship. With patience, love, and guidance, Newton has all the makings of a wonderful best friend. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion and have a peaceful home to offer, Newton might just be your perfect match. He is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives.
