Meet Stewey! If you're looking for a dog that's way out of the puppy stage but still has plenty of energy to keep up with adventures, then look no further than Stewey! He doesn't seem to mind sharing walks with other dogs, so he may do well in a home with the right canine companion! Stewey enjoys playing in water, so he would love to go to a home with a kiddie pool or pond for him to romp around in. While he's not into most toys, he likes Kong toys stuffed with peanut butter to keep him busy. Call the Ranch to come meet him today! This dog, as well as several other dogs and puppies, are currently in our program through a special collaboration with Siskiyou County Animal Control. Due to severe overcrowding and limited resources in the region, many shelters are faced with incredibly difficult decisions. Together, we’re working to give these dogs a better chance by finding them loving homes or transferring them to partner rescues. They’re available for adoption just like our Rescue Ranch pups — but because of the urgency of the situation, they may be transferred quickly. If you're interested, we highly encourage you to act fast — they deserve a loving home, and it could be yours! Rescue Ranch puppies are raised through our puppy foster program. They will have met adults, children, often other dogs, maybe cats. 16-week or older puppies will have taken part in our "Reading to Rescue Pups" program and attended many events. When they are at least 8 weeks old, puppies are given a wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian. Before going home, all puppies will have been dewormed and received all age-appropriate vaccinations for parvo/distemper, and Bordetella. If they are 4 months or older they will also have their rabies vaccination. All puppies are also microchipped and registered with 911PetChip. We require spay/neutering of puppies at 6-8 months old (or the appropriate age for giant breeds) by our veterinarian. The procedure is covered by the adoption fee. Alternatively, adopters can choose to have the procedure done by their own vet (proof required), and a portion of the cost will be refunded. All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated. The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300 (unless a reduced fee applies ) APPLY NOW July 2, 2025, 5:04 pm
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Stewey, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
