My story

Luna is a gentle, shy girl who’s still learning to feel comfortable in new environments — but once she opens up, her true personality shines. Her previous owner describes her as funny, hyper, and oh-so-sweet. Luna has a playful side and especially enjoys the company of children, making her a wonderful cat. She came to Dakin with her sister, Nyla, and the two share a special bond. While Luna can be reserved at first, her friendly and curious nature eventually takes over. With a little time and a lot of love, she’ll be zooming around your home, chasing toys, and asking for attention. If you're looking for a kindhearted cat with a playful soul and you're ready to give her the patience she deserves, Luna might be your perfect match. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
