I might be just a little cautious and shy until I get to know you, but once you’re the person who I trust and feel safe with, I will love you deeply with everything I’ve got. I’ll be your constant companion and loyal friend. I’ve been through a lot of change and instability in my life, but I try my best not to let that get me down. Once we’re family, I hope that you’ll wonder what you ever did without me in your life. Yep, I’m that special. And I can’t wait to be your dog. That’s all I’ve ever wanted…to belong and to be loved. I’m an adorable, 2-year-old, 49-pound Black Lab mix, with expressive ears, gentle eyes, the sweetest smile, and a lovely, delightful personality. I’m already housebroken and crate trained, and I even know how to use a dog door. How about that? I came to Wayside when my previous owner could no longer take care of me. I miss her. My life hasn’t been easy, though, and coming to the big shelter was scary and confusing. I still remember trembling in my kennel those first few days. Then the best thing ever happened, when I was able to spend several weeks in a loving foster home. Ah, I was finally able to relax and just be myself. Those were the best weeks of my life. I’m back at the shelter now, where it will be easy for you to find me. I feel rested a
