My friends at Wayside say:-I`m shy and nervous at first, but have a loving heart underneath!-I like to play, especially with wand toys and mouse toys!-I`ll need extra time to warm up in my new homeHi there… I’m Fernando, a 3-year-old tabby cat with soft stripes, a gentle heart, and a shy soul. I may not be the first to greet you at the door, but if you’re patient with me, you’ll discover the affectionate, playful companion I truly am underneath my quiet exterior.New places and new faces can make me a little nervous at first, so I’ll need some extra time and understanding to settle into a new home. But once I feel safe and start to trust you, you’ll see a whole new side of me—one full of confidence, love, and even a few sweet surprises. I’ve been told I have an adorable voice, and I like to “sing” little songs for the people I care about. It’s my special way of saying, “I feel safe with you.”I also love to play! Wand toys and little mouse toys are my favorites—I come alive when I get to chase and pounce. Playtime is one of the best ways to help me open up and feel more comfortable. After I’ve gotten my zoomies out, you can usually find me lounging in a sunny spot by a window, watching birds, squirrels, or just soaking in the warm light. There’s nothing better than a nap in a cozy sunbeam.What I really need is a calm, patient home with someone who understands that trust takes time—but is worth every moment. When I know I’m loved and safe, I’m affectionate, curious, and so very sweet. I’ll be your quiet shadow, your sunspot companion, and your gentle, singing friend.If you’re looking for a cat with a tender spirit and a lot of love to give once the bond is built, I hope you’ll come meet me.
