My story

Meet Ned - Your Best Buddy! 🐕 Age: 2 years Breed: Shepherd mix Weight: 50 pounds (expected to reach 55-60 pounds) Gender: Male All about Ned Ned is a fun loving young pup with a heart full of joy and energy to match! This handsome Shepherd mix is looking for an active family who can keep up with his playful spirit and help him continue growing into the amazing dog he's definitely destined to be. Ned is a dog with a zest for life and the energy to enjoy it. Why choose Ned (or better yet Why Let Ned Choose You)? Personality: Ned is incredibly sweet, loving, and friendly. He's naturally submissive and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making him a great addition to a multi-pet household. His gentle nature shines through in every interaction. Energy Level: This active boy loves to play, explore, and stay busy! He's perfect for families who enjoy outdoor activities, long walks, or backyard games. When playtime is over, you'll find him cooling off on the AC vent - his favorite relaxation spot! Isn’t it everyone’s? Toy Lover: Ned absolutely adores toys and needs plenty of chew items to keep his puppy brain engaged and his teeth healthy. Plus, what’s more fun than watching a puppy leaning into all the fun that comes with playing with toys: Brings out the inner kind in all of us. Ned’s ideal lifestyle - Active lifestyle: Ned thrives with regular exercise and mental stimulation - Secure fencing: This athletic boy can jump a 4-foot fence, so a taller fence or supervised outdoor time is essential - Patient training: He's still learning house manners and would benefit from continued training (he's not fond of crates, so alternative training methods work best) - Supervision around small children: While not aggressive, his size and puppy energy could accidentally knock over little ones during play - Dog-proofed home: Keep remotes and valuables out of reach - this curious pup is a bit of a counter surfer! Health & Care Ned is a healthy fur baby with no known allergies or diseases. He's up to date on his medical care and ready to start his new life with you as his forever family. Perfect Match Ned would do best with an experienced dog owner who understands that puppies need time, patience, and lots of love to reach their full potential. He's looking for a family that can provide structure, exercise, and plenty of affection. You’ll never feel lonely or unseen as long as your pal Ned is around. Ready to meet this wonderful boy? Contact the rescue to learn more about bringing Ned home! Ned is being cared for by rescuers in Stokes County and is ready to find his forever family.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ned, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
