My story

Introducing Harrison! He has come such a long way since we got him - he is a completely new dog. He came from a hoarding situation and we guess he never had any exposure to new people or anything outside of his home, nor much physical contact. He was so very scared and didn't want anything to do with being touched. Fast forward to now- where he can't get enough of petting, kissing and love. It is totally miraculous and he is such a brave boy. He is guessed to be around 7 years old and weighs 6.2 lbs. Unfortunately, he tested positive for heartworm, so he is undergoing treatment for that. We are hoping to find a family that will be able to help him through his final injections and provide a calm place for him to recover with lots of individualized attention and love. Recovery is basically strict exercise restriction to prevent an increase in his heart rate. Harrison's adoption donation of $395 helps cover the cost of his medical care. Adopters must live within a 1.5 hour driving distance from Romeoville, IL. Reference checks and a home visit is required.
