My story

Hi there! My name is Orli. I am a Rio Grande River border baby, rescued from Eagle Pass, Texas! I was found hiding under someone’s porch, tired and hungry. With the help of a homeless pet advocate, a transporter and the team from God’s Dogs Rescue (GDR) in Von Ormy, Texas I am now living with my loving foster family in San Antonio, Texas! It was a rough start but it was for the best! When I first arrived at the rescue I was shaved and examined. I had a gash on my arm, which is healing, My eyes were foggy, dry and with discharge, but with ointment and drops I see so much better! My teeth had seen better days, so most of them were extracted. Eating was a challenge for a while, until sutures were pulled out and my gums healed. I tested positive for Ehrlichia, which is a treatable tick borne disease, and abnormal liver values, both were treated with little pills! Most vagabonds eat just about anything! Not me. I can be a picky eater! Surprisingly I do eat water-softened puppy kibble, softened since my teefers are long gone. The puppy food has helped me bulk up just a tad. I also like roast beef and bites of chicken for treats (great for hiding pills). I was born to be a diva so I must live up to my title. I allow my foster mom basic grooming time like baths, paw trims, nail trims and fluffing my poodle curls. And yes, this diva will wear dresses and cute tees! While divas like me love nap time, I do enjoy some play time! Dangling kitty toys are fun to catch and chew! I also enjoy outdoor time with my foster family, two-legged and four-legged as well! Although life at my foster home is pawesome I would love to open my heart out to a furever family!
