🐾 Meet LadybirdLadybird came to us in the middle of the night, after her owner was unexpectedly arrested and there was no one left to care for her. Officers brought her to ACC, and she arrived trembling, unsure, and completely alone. At just 3 years old, this medium-sized sweetheart is trying her best to navigate an overwhelming world-and she's looking for a patient, loving adopter who can help her rediscover safety and trust.🏡 My Ideal HomeLadybird is searching for a calm, quiet home where she can take her time settling in. A routine, peaceful environment without a lot of hustle and bustle will help her feel safe. She'd do best with someone who understands that the best relationships are built slowly-and that every small win is worth celebrating.👶 Good with Kids?Ladybird should not live with very young children. She may be open to older, respectful kids who can give her space and allow her to approach on her own terms.🐕 Good with Other Dogs?Ladybird has shown fearful body language around other dogs in the care center and may be uncomfortable in social settings with them. She'd likely thrive as the only pet.🦮 Leash MannersShe walks gently on leash but may dart away from loud noises or unfamiliar sights. With a secure harness and lots of reassurance, she'll build confidence over time.🩺 Overall HealthLadybird is a healthy 46-pound pup. She is not yet spayed but has been vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for common preventives.🧠 Behavior Determination: Level 2Ladybird is shy and anxious in the shelter environment. While she allows gentle handling, she often keeps her distance and watches the world with wide, uncertain eyes. With time and positive reinforcement, we believe she can blossom into a devoted companion.💸 Adoption Fee: $75Ladybird is ready to trade in her uncertainty for comfort. If you're someone who believes in second chances and quiet triumphs, come meet this tender-hearted girl. She may be timid now, but with your help, she could learn to fly. 🐞My Foster wrote:This young pittie girl is bursting with love, energy, and personality! Whether she's tossing her toys in the air or trotting happily on long walks. Ladybird lives for playtime and time with her favorite humans.Ladybird didn't get the socialization or training she deserved in her early days, but she's a fast learner with the right person and plenty of structure. She's working hard on her manners and gaining confidence every day! At the moment, she's reactive to other dogs and needs to be the only pup in your home, but with the right support we are hopeful that she may be able to have dog friends in the future. For now, she wants you all to herself! What Ladybird needs:* A dog- and cat-free home* A committed, patient human to continue her training* Daily exercise + playtime* Couch privileges (non-negotiable)In return, you'll get unconditional love, soulful eyes staring up atyou, and the best snuggle buddy in the five boroughs.
