Buzz

My story

The buzz around town is that the Mesquite Animal Shelter has a handsome 3 yr old Australian Cattle Dog that needs TLC to build confidence and trust. His name is Buzz, weighs 37 lbs and came in as a stray on 6/27. I suspect he’s always been a little shy but a noisy shelter can be scary! He’s skittish, doesn’t look at you, and prefers to find a corner or something to hide under to provide security. The good news is that with some petting and positive encouragement he does show that he wants to make friends. When out in the yard petting him, he jumped up on the bench next to me and gave me kisses. The kisses appeared to be out of gratification that someone was being kind to him. Australian Cattle Dogs are considered to be very smart so I am sure Buzz is. He doesn`t appear to know the sit command yet I`m sure he could learn. He took at bit of coaxing to walk on a leash but he did ok. If you’re patient, it will pay off with Buzz. He has such a loving gentle side. He would make a great family companion living indoors cuddling close
