*Meet Boots, the Loyal Red Tri Aussie* Provided a new nickname to avoid any negative associations with his past name, as he likely came from a stressful past. He gives cowboy vibes and his front paw markings look like boots, born was his name Boots! *Rescue Story:* Boots was given a second chance at life after being pulled from the last chance euthanasia list. Despite the challenges he's faced, this loving 3-year-old red tri Australian Shepherd is ready to find his forever home. He has 2 bites on his record one unprovoked and one provoked. We have had him out of the shelter for over a month, he has integrated into a home well with NO incidents. *Personality:* Boots shines when given structure and attention. He excels in calm environments with a consistent routine, where he can thrive as a loyal companion. When leashed and monitored, he is a well-behaved gentleman, enjoying walks and interaction with his favorite humans. *Needs:* Boots requires an experienced owner who can provide a stable and patient environment. Due to his tendency to react when left alone, he needs someone who can invest time in training and socialization. A home without children under 12 is essential, as he would benefit from a quieter, more predictable living situation. He was presumably left in a crate for far too long with his original owners and needs to be able to free roam in a low arousal environment. He is currently crate trained but working towards free roam. Currently working on “wait” and “okay” when he can go, before eating and when coming in and out. Consistently providing him commands eliminates the potential of incidents caused by giving him opportunities to control. We will continue his training and socialization, but are interviewing for possible adopters. *We will NOT interview if you do NOT have experience with herders and do not have a basic knowledge of the Aussie breed and of dog behaviour. Boots will need to have a dedicated trainer on board to assist with integration as well. Another dog that is calm and not in your face would be okay. Cats probably okay if integrated properly. Fenced yard is a must . NO small children, well behaved kids over 12 should be okay. *Ideal Home:* Boots would flourish in a home with: - Experienced dog owners - A calm and peaceful environment - Consistent routine and training - No children under 12 - Potential for socialization with other calm pets -Fenced backyard -Another calm and well-trained dog *Rewarding Relationship:* With the right owner, Boots will reward you with loyalty and affection. He deserves a second chance at a happy life, and with patience and understanding, he'll become a loving and devoted companion. If you're ready to provide Boots with the love, structure, and care he needs, he would be thrilled to meet you. located in Casselberry.
