My story

Dog Name: L'il Bug. Breed: Mixed Breed Sex: Female Age: 2 Weight: 33 lbs. (As of 6/27) Medical Needs: Routine shots, as well as flea/tick/heartworm preventative meds. Spay must be completed by end of November 2025 and is scheduled by Grass Roots Rescue. Appointments can be requested for Georgetown, Dover, or Wilmington. We will request the appointment at the location most convenient for the adopter. Foster to adopt families must understand we are given dates and whatever date their dog is assigned by the clinic, is the date they are required to keep. Because the neuter is still pending, foster to adopt families must live within an hour of the locations listed above, and must be willing to travel there for the appointment. A required $75.00 check must be submitted by the adopter, which Grass Roots Rescue will hold and then destroy once the neuter is verified. House Broken: Yes Crate Trained: Yes, she will enter easily with a treat. She stays in there quietly until it is potty time. Good in Car: She settles down and curls up quickly. Good on a Leash: Yes, L'il Bug walks along with you rather than towing you along behind. Energy Level: now that L'il Bug's pups are ready to leave the nest, she's remembered that she's still a young'un. She loves to chase squirrels and balls, as much as she loves to curl up for a snuggle. Need a Fenced in Yard: No Dog Friendly: Yes, the litter size is 10 puppies. There are also four dogs in residence. She has accepted correction from them well. She previously came from a WV property that easily had over a dozen dogs. If Yes, does your dog need another dog in its adoptive home? No, but she would love it if there is one. Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: Yes If Yes, What's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any age with supervision. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? L'il Bug starts most introductions by letting you know that her people and their property are under her protection. Within a few moments, she's your friend. L'il has been a diligent and tireless mama. Now that she has recovered her weight and strength, she's remembered that she's still a sweet, young thing who wants to have fun and snuggle down with her person. A few balls and bones and she's a happy camper. She is very affectionate and loving, and when I sit down, she frequently chooses to join me. L'il will alert bark, and stop when requested; she is not prone to pointless barking for attention. Her in-house manners are generally good (no chewed up footwear, etc.), though she's not above a little counter surfing if you leave something right on the edge. L'il is sweet and gentle, takes a treat without getting your fingers. She'd be a great dog for volunteer w ork and good choice for any family or single. Foster’s Location: Lewes, DE Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app) ##2351497##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lil Bug, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
