My story

Meet Pleakley—the overly enthusiastic, slightly awkward, always entertaining member of the Lilo & Stitch litter. He’s your classic puppy: equal parts explorer, cuddler, and chaotic noodle with zero sense of personal space and all the enthusiasm of a tourist on their first trip to Disneyland. He’s goofy, charming, and probably thinks he’s doing everything perfectly, even while tripping over his own feet. If you’re looking for a puppy with personality, quirks, and a questionable understanding of gravity—Pleakley’s your guy. Pleakley is 4 pounds of “what is he?” wrapped in fluff and powered by pure enthusiasm. He came to us with his mom, Noni, and the rest of his alien crew—er, litter—after she gave birth in the shelter. Mom seems to be some glorious mashup of Aussie or Irish setter—basically, something smart, fast, and probably really good at herding things. Mom appears to be some glorious, ginger-toned mashup of Aussie or Irish Setter——basically, something that should be sprinting through fields or starring in a shampoo commercial. Pleakley, however, and a few of his curly-haired siblings, are giving strong "dad was a poodle vibes". Unfortunately, Dad didn’t leave a name, a breed certificate, or even a forwarding address, so we’re left guessing. Pleakley is very playful with his littermates—he’s that kid on the playground who’s always in the middle of the action, somehow covered in dirt, grinning from ear to ear, and having the best time. He hasn’t been around any cats yet. But knowing Pleakley, he’d march right up, wagging his little tail like, “Hi! Are you my new best friend, and wonder why in the world do you sound like a tire losing air when you're upset?” He’s spent time with a 16-year-old named Sam and was totally smitten. He followed her around like she was made of peanut butter and dreams, clearly convinced she was placed on this earth just for him. As for new people? Pleakley is the friendly sort—he assumes everyone is there to admire him, and honestly, he’s not wrong. He greets the world with wide eyes, a wiggly body, and the kind of puppy optimism that’s impossible not to love. Pleakley runs at a 6–7 on the energy scale, which is that sweet spot between “let’s play all day!” and “okay, time for a power nap in the sunbeam.” If we had to guess, he’s somewhere between a curious raccoon and a bouncy little bunny—always into something, but in the most adorable way possible. His temperament leans more independent—he likes to do his own thing, especially if “his own thing” involves poking his nose into new places and chasing imaginary friends across the living room. He’s playful, curious, and definitely has a mind of his own, but he’s got a soft spot for his people when it’s cuddle time. Favorite activities? He’s a professional littermate wrestler, a part-time explorer, and a full-time nibbler (he’s convinced your shoelaces are personally attacking him). Pleakley loves discovering new things, whether it’s a crinkly toy or the magical mystery of under-the-couch dust bunnies. Everything is an adventure—and he’s always ready for the next one. Thinking of adding Pleakley to your life? Excellent choice. But let’s talk about what you’re actually signing up for—because while he may look like a tiny stuffed animal come to life, he’s still a baby with a to-do list of things to learn. Pleakley operates on pure instinct and good intentions—which means you’ll be doing some quality bonding over paper towels and carpet cleaner. Leash training? Oh, that mysterious string you clip to a collar? Yeah, Pleakley’s never met it. And then there’s socialization, because the world is big, loud, and full of weird stuff like vacuum cleaners, sunglasses, and people who don’t immediately offer treats. Pleakley needs a human willing to show him that the outside world isn't terrifying. If you’re ready to laugh, learn, clean up a few messes, and help a tiny space oddball figure out life on planet Earth, Pleakley might just be your guy. So, if you're ready to welcome a 4-pound alien disguised as a puppy into your home—then Pleakley would like to pencil you in. But here’s the deal: 📝 You’ll need to fill out an adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app (yes, even if you’re already in love—rules are rules). 📍 You’ll need to pick him up in Hutchinson, KS—he’s not flying Delta or riding shotgun in a rideshare. 📆 And nope, you can’t whisk him away just yet. He’s not available to leave until around July 21st, because he still has some growing, tumbling, and world domination planning to do.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pleakley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
