My story

Let's give this sweet baby the life and home she truly deserves!! This special Coconut tries to act tough on the outside, but once you get to the tender inside she’s sweet as can be! Coconut’s history is not fully known; she came to rescue after being found on the street in very rough shape. She’s now in foster, recovering and learning how to trust people for a year and is finally ready to find her "furever" home. Because of previous injuries (dog attack) and her small stature, Coconut's ideal home will be single story & have puppy stairs to help her access high places, like the sofa. Her ideal person will have a fairly regular schedule, and be tender and patient, letting Coconut set the pace of bonding and being close. Once attached, she will want to always be with you - on the sofa, in the bed, in the car, in the store… everywhere. Coconut is house trained and knows how to use a dog door. She enjoys afternoon sunbathing and tasting everything you taste! She’s learning how to walk on a leash and interact with other dogs; it will benefit her to continue this as she is very smart, curious, and loves seeing the world from her new, safe perspective. Like most poodles, she is a “talker” which should be kept in mind for people who live in apartments. Regular grooming is a necessary and will best be done by her trusted person at home, until she can be acclimated to the grooming salon. Coconut does well with small, similarly sized dogs that are passive in nature. She is afraid of big dogs as she has been attacked. She loves gentle and slow moving children, but introductions should be supervised until everyone is acclimated. Austin, TX area adoptions. Her adoption fee of $350 covers the vet exam, rabies and tick tests, grooming, vaccinations, heartworm preventatives, microchip and spay.
