My story

Meet Poppy! 11 mos. Spayed/Female Found huddled in a ditch, terrified but uninjured, Poppy is a tiny scrap of a girl who has obviously had a difficult life. Poppy is warm and gentle with people, but is scared to death of being picked up, with her front paws reaching and grasping at any surface to cling to so she can remain on all fours, yet purring and enjoying gentle petting with happily kneading paws. She is a timid soul, and spends some time in hiding, but she also wants very much to bond and answers back when spoken to in tiny grunts and soft meows and her wee purring motor starts... she needs a little time and patience, and the love and encouragement of a special human to help her come all the way out of her shell. Poppy, who is a quiet and well behaved kitten who is just learning how to play, will thrive in a mature, adult only home and a fairly quiet setting. She seems to become comfortable with other cats, though she is initially fearful, we suspect she was victim to being bullied outdoors when she was trying to fend for herself. She could thrive in a home with another very laid back, mellow and mild mannered cat, or will do well as the only pet in the home where she can be the center of attention. A very small cat, Poppy looks younger than she is, and she is sure to remain on the small side even as she continues growing and gaining a full and healthy body weight. A sweet little thing, with so much potential, Poppy has so much love in her to share, she just needs someone special to share it all with! Poppy has been fully vetted and vaccinated, treated for routine parasites, she has been microchipped and has been spayed. An adoption fee of $250 applies. Apply to adopt Poppy today at http://priderescue.ca/

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Poppy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
