My story

PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Gus! Gus is approximately 1 year old, 36 lbs currently and he may have some Mountain Cur in his mix (but really is a Mutt)! Gus was found wandering by the street department. In his foster home, he is working hard on his house-training, crate training and leash walking. He could go to a home with teenagers, dog-savvy cats, and other dogs. His foster says, `Gus is a GORGEOUS, intelligent, energetic, playful boy! He came to us straight from the streets and was heading for a not so happy ending. In the time he’s been with us he’s learned to sit, shake, lay down (taught with treats in less than 1/2 an hour, so he’s definitely food motivated), walk on a leash, is making amazing progress with potty training, and is learning to love his crate. He’s started going in independently in the last week or so. He’s not a big fan of being alone, so if definitely recommend he have somebody with him more often than not and crate when his people aren’t home. I think he would absolutely love a fenced in yard to play in and a friend to play with. He`s a chatty guy and gives us lots of playful “ah-rooos”! He’s such a smart boy and will make a great companion for somebody!`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on July 18th.
