My story

Pluto is a playful, happy-go-lucky young pup with a heart full of love and a wagging tail to match! Though he can be a little shy at first, it doesn’t take long for this sweet boy to warm up - especially if you have treats! Once comfortable, Pluto shows his fun-loving, silly side, enjoying playtime with toys, chasing after stuffies, and catching treats like a pro. Pluto walks nicely on leash and knows basic commands like sit, lay, and stay. He’s an active dog who would thrive in a home with older children or adults who can help him burn off his energy with play, walks, and lots of affection. Pluto is eager to please and responds well to gentle guidance. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful pal who loves lap time just as much as zoomies, Pluto is your guy! He’s ready to find his forever home where he can continue to grow, play, and be loved. He came forward for treats but would retreat back to his bed when I tried to leash him. With patience, a few extra treats, & a big loop in my leash I was able to secure him & he trotted right out of his kennel. LEASH SKILLS: Walks well on leash, minimal pulling. HANDLING: Pluto took his time sniffing around in the yard before he approached me. He is a playful young guy & I was able to pet him all over his body while he remained loose with a wagging tail. He knows sit and waits patiently for treats! He loves everything & even catches treats in the air like a pro! He walked back into the kennels with confidence & was easy to return. His dinner was in his kennel upon return, there was a note about resource guarding so I was cautious, but didn’t see any signs of guarding behavior, he was more focused on me than the food. PLAY: Very playful happy & silly in the yard. Also enjoyed lap time TOYS: Liked stuffies & squeaky toys. Chased but didn’t take possession. 07/01/2025 medical staff notes: resource guarded food during intake. pt was licking cream cheese and slightly snarled when snout was lifted to give bordatella but quickly redirected ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
