My story

Name, age, breed: Brody, 3 years, bully mixLikes: Cuddling, learning new tricks, treats, going for walks, playing fetch, playing with other dog friends.Dislikes: strangers approaching suddenly or coming up to the door. What would be the ideal home? Brody is a huge snuggle bug! His ideal adopters would be someone who loves to cuddle and give pets whilst also leaning into his curious and adventurous side. Brody is very smart and loves learning new tricks and playing with his person. Someone who can provide that mental stimulation, along with plenty of physical exercise would be perfectly suited for Brody!Good with other cats? YesGood with dogs? YesGood with children? YesTemperament: cuddly, playful, smart!Motivators? Treats and affectionAny commands? sit, paw, sit pretty, place, speak, lay down, wait, up (onto bed or couch) and down.House trained? YesCrate trained? No, but knows `place` with a dog bed and would likely take to crate training very well! How long will it take to settle into a new environment? 3-3-3 rule: First 3 days - Your dog may beoverwhelmed and may hide, have a lack of appetite, or test boundaries. Give them space and time toadjust in a quiet room with their bed, food, water, and toys. 3 weeks - Your dog may start to settle inand their personality will emerge. You can expect behavior issues to arise, so set boundaries andexpectations with positive reinforcement training. 3 months - Your dog should be comfortable andacclimated to your home. They should know their routine and expect meals and enrichment at specifictimes.Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? NoIf you think Brody is the one for you - fill out an application today!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Brody, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
