My story

    Meet Forrest Gump This beauty is Forrest Gump, but his friends just call him Forrest. Poor Forrest’s dad passed away, and there was no one to care for him, so as a senior boy, at 11 years old, he finds himself in need of a new home; however, don’t let his age fool you. As a hunting and sporting breed, Forrest has plenty of the energy for which this Brittany breed is known.  He will need someone to take him on walks to help him channel some of that spunk. Forrest has been in foster care for only a short time, so his foster mom is still learning about him. It seems Forrest has lived most of his life outside alone, so he is adjusting to life inside a home and having to learn appropriate house manners. He’s a sweet boy, on the submissive side, and he’s smart, so he will learn quickly with some positive reinforcement training as he is highly food and treat motivated.  He must have a fenced yard so he can run, chase birds and squirrels, and sniff. He does like to go on walks and does better with a harness and leash so he does not pull as strongly. He seems to have no interest in playing fetch; he’ll chase after a ball a time or two, but he won’t bring it back. Balls just aren’t his thing, but he will be beyond ecstatic to chase the resident cat in his foster home, so Forrest cannot be in a home with cats or other small animals. He does get along with the other foster dog and will play with him a little bit, so he would be ok in a home with another calm, submissive dog. He would probably be fine in a home with smaller children, although this is not known for certain as there are none in his foster home.  This beautiful boy still has a lot of love to give, life to live, and with a little polishing, this diamond in the rough will turn out to be a real gem.
