My story

Meet Baja! This beautiful 52-pound Flat-Coated Retriever mix is a gentle soul. When Baja first arrived at the shelter, she was a bit unsure around people—but it didn’t take long for her to show us she’s no stranger to love. Her manners give it away: she knows how to sit, shake, and lay down, and she takes treats oh-so-gently from your hand. Baja is a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she becomes incredibly affectionate and loyal. She's the kind of dog who forms deep bonds and thrives with patient, loving humans. She came to us alongside her buddy Blast, a 72-pound Mastiff mix, and has shown she does well with other dogs during her time here. If you’re looking for a sweet, slightly shy, but devoted companion—Baja just might be your girl.
