My story

A volunteer writes:Delhi reminds me of Flow, a film that won the 2025 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the Oscar's. Like Flow, the cat heroin, our Delhi is trying to survive after her ordeal(of loosing her owner and her friends) and hoping to belong again to a family...Dheli, after initial shyness is a gem of the cat who loves being with people. She loves to love and being loved. She is petite and so cute with her very unusual ears that seem to have been sculpted on top of her head. Our assessor fell head over heals about her and so did I. Delhi came to us with her housemates Lindt and S'Mores after their owner passed away. She is a sweet, gentle and timid little gal sure to make a most lovely pet for years to come. Come to the Manhattan Care Center, meet Delhi, fall in love and take her home(she is already spayed)! What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.Delhi is a slightly shy cat, who, when pet for enough time, warmed up into a complete love bug. At first, she was in her den, barely looking out the side door, sniffed treats, and then allowed petting and began leaning in for cheek rubs. With more petting over the course of a few minutes, she became increasingly affectionate, leaning in very hard for cheek rubs, rubbing her teeth and jaw against the assessor's fingers, and rolling partly on her side. She would stretch her head out of the den in order to get more petting, but she couldn't be coaxed out with her paws. She's a very sweet cat who will likely need a little time to warm up to her new home.Delhi interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience provided they are counseled on either slightly shy behavior or needing time to warm up. Primary Color: Black Weight: 8.7 Age: 1yrs 6mths 1wks
