My story

Say hello to Izel, a 3-year-old, 37-pound female Xoloitzcuintli with a truly unique twist—she sports a beautiful coat of short, soft hair, setting her apart from the traditional hairless variety of her breed. Just like her name (which means “unique”), Izel is truly special in every way.This sweet girl is a social butterfly who’s never met a stranger—dogs, people, big or small, Izel loves them all. Her warm, gentle nature makes her a joy to be around, and her favorite pastime? Giving kisses—lots of them!Izel is not only affectionate, but also loyal, loving, and full of personality. Whether she`s snuggling up beside you or making friends at the park, she spreads happiness wherever she goes.If you`re looking for a loving companion who’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside, Izel is ready to meet you.Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. For information regarding the adoption process please visit our website or read the information below THANK YOU.ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second ChanceSPCA, please come during open hours. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet.ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, fecal, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $275 for puppies under 6 months of age and $225 for dogs older than 6 months. $175 for kittens under 6 months of age and $150 for cats older than 6 months.
