My story

Meet Nigel! Nigel is a 3.5-month-old Great Pyrenees/Lab mix with a soft white coat and an even softer heart. He seems to have missed the memo that puppies are supposed to be chaotic—he’s chill, affectionate, and well-mannered beyond his months. His favorite things? Snuggling with humans, stealing slippers, squeaky toys, and splashing around in his water bowl before flopping into the puddle. Whether he’s chasing ice cubes, or quietly snacking on apple slices, he brings a goofy sweetness to everything he does. Nigel has the most adorable vocab of little squeaks and cries that make all of us laugh. Found abandoned in a parking lot, he’s adjusted well to his foster home and is soaking up every ounce of love he can. He’s still working on house-training and doesn’t love long crate periods, but he settles well in a gated space when his humans are out. He would thrive in a home that offers a mix of downtime and company, and possibly another friendly dog to show him the ropes (though not required).Nigel craves human company and loves to approach groups of people including young children. He's a chill puppy and assumes everyone will adore him (and they do)! He's very friendly and finding his confidence around other dogs, though he doesn't have a lot of experience with cats. A proper introduction is recommended. He's going to be a large dog with low-med energy, so two short walks a day and some gentle playtime are plenty now. He would love a home with space to stretch out and stay cool—he’s a big fluffball who feels the heat! Nigel doesn’t need a fence and isn’t one to wander—his favorite place is near his people. If you’re looking for an easy-going and gentle giant, Nigel might just be your perfect match!Check out this video to see him play: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IazIY-pzO225UgeXuJPP0U2dKVKvR1rZ/view?usp=sharingIf you are interested in Nigel, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nigel, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
