My story

Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home.The folks around the shelter call me Duvall, I'm an ex-tom cat who's ready to find a nice quiet home to settle down in. I spent 'round 6 years on the streets, protectin' territories and fightin' for food; it took some convincin', but I've grown to really like livin' with humans and staying indoors. That bein' said, I'm still trying to get the hang of bein' an "indoors kitty", so make sure to take it slow with me. I've made human friends here at the shelter, sure, but movin' to a new place with new, unfamiliar humans can be a lot all at once! Phew! Help me take baby steps as I explore new places and meet new people. Also not very used to getting handled, or those little humans you folks call "kids" or "children"--they got lots of energy and can be pretty loud sometimes. Let me meet 'em before I get boxed up. I need a family who will let me take things at my own pace as I learn about new things. Once I come out of my shell, I have lots of love to give.I have some handling sensitivity. That means I have some preferences about how and where I get petted.
