Ernie Pablo is a hoot and a holler! This petite solid black buddy is so affectionate, so funny, cat and dog friendly, and makes the absolute best faces! He has such a sweet and goofy demeanor and he is sure to add comedic relief to the future family that is fortunate enough to adopt this guy! We believe Ernie is a pittie mix of some sort around 1 year old and weighs approximately 25 pounds. He is pocket sized perfection! Due to him being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed, they are our best guesses. But that’s what makes rescue so exciting! You never know the combination of the sweet pup you have decided to save! Check out silly Ernie here: https://youtu.be/QkrR2zb48cc Ernie had me and my coworker rolling on the floor during his visit with us. He is absolutely hilarious. The faces he makes are one of a kind! He is a professional derp in the best way! He needs his own instagram to highlight all of the silly faces he makes! He is also so affectionate and loves to be coddled and scratched! His small size makes him the perfect travel companion and the perfect size to cuddle with on your lap! Ernie also loves other dogs and cats! He is slightly timid when he meets them initially, but once the newness wears off, he is ready to play with the pups and coexist with the kitties! In the yard, he loved running around and playing with some of our medium/higher energy dogs. They were chasing each other and exploring the smells of tree trunks together and it was just super sweet to watch. When he came inside to meet our housecat Biggie, he was a little cautious and nervous at first, giving some investigative sniffs. But after a while, he settled down and was eating treats next to the kitty on the couch. We consider Ernie to be cat and dog friendly and would do well in a home with a medium energy pup that knew when it was time to play and when it was time to rest. And he would also do well in a home with a dog savvy kitty who doesn’t mind puppy sniffs and kisses! Ernie didn’t meet any kiddos when he was with us, but he was very friendly with the staff. We believe that he would do well in a household with older dog savvy kids that understood how to properly enrich a pup like Ernie and can be okay with excited greetings from him. If there is a certain age that you are curious how Ernie behaves around, let us know and we would be happy to find out for you! We want to make sure he is perfect for your family! Ernie is small enough to be fine in an apartment or a home. If he were to be in an apartment it would be best if the owner was active and could give Ernie the exercise he desires with daily walks and frequent dog park trips. I can definitely see Ernie being a great family dog and canine companion! He has so much love and joy to offer! Does Ernie sound like your type of boy? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
