Location: Alexandria, VA Say hello to Nala - a bright, loving, and loyal Great Pyrenees mix with just the right amount of sass. She’s an energetic early riser who gives big cuddles, adores her people, and has a balanced energy that blends playtime and long walks with plenty of downtime. At her core, Nala is a true family girl who makes any house feel like home. Energy and Personality Nala has a zest for life, especially when she’s outdoors. She loves long walks, hanging out on the balcony, and being part of whatever her people are doing. She’s very vocal - she barks when excited, when she wants to go out, or when she’s ready for a meal. She’ll even break out her unique “baby bark,” a softer, higher-pitched version that is sure to make you smile. With a firm “That’s enough,” she settles nicely. Companionship Nala loves her family deeply. She’s good with dogs and kids, though she can be a little wary of strangers. She hasn’t met cats yet, but her easy-going nature suggests she could do well with gentle introductions and time. Training and Manners Nala is housebroken, leash trained, and mostly crate trained. She knows basic commands like “sit,” “lay down,” “stay,” “potty,” “food,” and “go.” Contrary to her earlier reputation, Nala is definitely food-motivated and loves treats - but she’s also smart enough to eat around any hidden medicine. She can be a bit of a picky eater, which is common for her breed. She does well when left unattended, usually resting by the door. Best Home Fit Nala would thrive in a big home, possibly even on a farm, but would be just as happy in a home where she gets daily walks and outdoor time. She could fit well in a big family or with just one or two devoted people. She’s happiest when she’s loving and being loved.
