Irena

My story

Irena is looking for her forever family. She is a 1 year old wire-haired terrier mix and weighs about 30 lbs. She is small enough to be a lap dog but large enough to hang with the big dogs! She gets along with everyone - men, women, kids, and other dogs of all sizes. Irena would prefer a home without cats. She has had a rough start in her first year of life but is quickly adapting and learning all of the things. She is medium energy and is doing great with house-training. Irena loves to explore the yard, play with sticks, take a dip in the pool, play fetch with her squeaky tennis ball, carry stuffed animals around the house, and play with her foster sister. After all that play, she’ll curl up by your side for some belly rubs and snuggles. She also wants you to know that she’s got a spot behind her ear that will make her leg twitch when you scratch it - it’s her favorite! Irena will make the perfect companion for a family (she LOVES kids) or a best friend for someone that might include her in their adventures, take her on walks in the neighborhood, or chill on the couch!
