My story

CeCe: POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES:This lady likes to cuddle in bed, and she likes kids! She will solicit pets when comfortable, but she is shy when meeting new people, and will hide for a bit, but eventually come out to say hello. She has the potential to be an easy-going cat once she warms up to her people. CHALLENGES:CeCe is shy and will need a VERY patient, cat-savvy adopter who can read her body language and give her time to blossom into her true personality. It would be best to start in a small room or large crate and gradually be given more access to the house as she starts to get comfortable. Expectations should be set that it is unknown how long it will take for her to adapt (possible weeks to months) and she might never become super social, but more of a roommate. She would be ideal for a gentle, quiet adopter looking to help out a cat but one that has low expectations for who that cat is and what might become. Cece has evidence of dental tartar or gingivitis and may benefit from dental cleaning in the future. Follow up with a primary care veterinarian is recommended for ongoing dental health recommendations. She has evidence of dermatitis, which means inflammation of the skin. The cause of dermatitis is usually due to allergy, and can cause rash-like symptoms and causes the animal to scratch lick or twitch. Sometimes the infection can also occur and would require antibiotic treatments. Occasionally this condition can resolve if the source of allergy/irritant can be determined and removed from the environment but a close relationship with a veterinarian may be required for ongoing management of this issue. Cece is overweight, and it is recommended that her adopter establishes a relationship with a primary care veterinarian to create a healthy weight loss plan. COMPATIBILITY:Dogs: Possibly - no historyCats: Possibly no historyKids: Yes, has lived with kids before and preferred to be with them If you think CeCe could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen.
